Privacy Policy

When you create a Circles account we store the email address you sign up with (or your Google account's email), your display name, and the avatar image you upload. If you add a phone number so friends can find you, we store that too. If you connect a calendar in the Android app (Google Calendar or your phone's calendar) we use only your events' start and end times, to know when you're busy. Event titles, locations, attendees and descriptions are never saved or shared.

When you broadcast that you're free, set up a plan, or RSVP to an event, we store the activity tag, the visibility scope you chose, and a place, if you add one. Direct messages and circle chats are stored on our servers so they sync across your devices.

Your data powers the features of the app: showing you who's available, suggesting times for hangouts, syncing chat threads, and delivering push notifications. We don't sell your data, and we don't run ads against it.

Every "free now" status, plan, and event you create has a visibility scope: your inner circle, one or more of your Circles, or all friends. You can change the default in Settings, and you can change the scope of any individual broadcast at the moment you post it.

We use Supabase for our database and authentication, Google Cloud for hosting, Firebase Cloud Messaging for push notifications on Android, Google Places for place search, PostHog for product analytics, and Sentry for crash reports. These providers have their own privacy policies and we only share what's required to operate the service. We don't share data with marketers or data brokers.

When you type a plan or describe your week in words, that text is sent to Google's Gemini model on Google Cloud (Vertex AI) so it can be read. Only the words you typed are sent. We never send your friends' names, profiles, free time or plans to an AI model: we match the names you typed to your friends ourselves. More detail: How Circles uses AI.

You can export everything we have on you and delete your account from within the app — go to Profile → Data & privacy. Deletion is immediate and irreversible.
